The first image to load should be a black-and-white picture of my friend Paul standing next to his motorcycle. That image should be eventually replaced by the color version of the same picture. The attribute is probably not the best solution to the problem of slow picture downloads. If your picture is so big that you require , you may wish to consider using a smaller picture. However, in situations where you need that large picture, can give the reader something to ponder for the extra time it takes to complete the download.
